Toriki

Toriki is air-layering in Japanese and is a process of developing roots by trimming bark off a trunk. This process is carried out for rooting at the midpoint of a trunk or branch of a tree and that an emerged root is severed from the parent tree at a point in time when it is replenished. It then becomes on its own. Similar to sashiki (propagation by means of cutting), it is one of the means of asexual reproduction.
