Sokan

The word is used to describe a two-trunk tree, one of the forms associated with bonsai trees that develop from the root of a single stump. Of the two, one that is especially tall and thick is the main trunk and the other thinner and shorter one is an attached trunk, which is also called a child trunk. Another name for them is ”aioi” (double trunks).
