Kabudachi

Multiple trunks. Trees with two or more trunks from its foot are collectively called ”takan” multiple-trunk trees. ”Kabudachi” refers to a tree with five or more trunks extending from its foot. A tree with two trunks from its foot is called ”sokan” (double trunks) and one with three trunks ”sankan” (triple trunks). Usually, trees with odd-numbered trunks are appreciated. Even-numbered ones, except for two, are unpopular.
