Moyogi

A tree shape. It refers to a bonsai tree whose trunks draw curves in patterns. A tree whose ”mikimoyo” trunk patterns flowing to the left is called ”migi katte” and that leaning to the right ”hidari katte.” Such trunk patterns appear not only to the right and left but to the back and forth. Generally, those with an anteroposterior curve that slumps over are said to be better. Branches with slight curve lines will match up with curved trunks, making a bonsai tree a good ”moyogi” curved one. Growers need to pay full attention to the placement of branches and shape a ”moyogi” tree. In principle, branches should be placed outside the trunk curve line and no branches should be extended inside the line. An excessive curve line is too artificial.
