Hanedashi

The term refers to one or two trunks in a multi-trunk tree sprouting out to the right or left. Usually, a small trunk or trunks in a group planting are sprouting out. A bonsai tree with ”hanedashi” trunks is considered dynamic, so ”hanedashi” is an important factor in determining the value of a bonsai tree as a whole.
