A means of grafting referring to asexual reproduction of trees. Branches, buds and roots of mother trees desired for propagation are utilized for grafting to be linked with a stock normally regarded as being in the same group of trees in terms of the scientific study of plants and easy for reproduction utilization. Thus, it is a method of creating a solid tree and is utilized to achieve a wholesale increase of seeds carrying the same properties as those of parent trees in a single attempt. For grafting, there are edatsugi to link a branch with a cutting, metsugi and netsugi, which use a bud and a root, respectively. There is also a yobitsugi grafting method in which a young tree is planted against a bonsai to fill a void.
